In 1946, Giuseppe, an agent for several leading industries in the hospital medical sector, founded BIDOIA, an individual company selling hospital products in north-east Italy.

In 1967, his son, Gianfranco, started to work in his father’s company as a dealer in hospital equipment, and while in this job he began to acquire many prerequisites that were to help him in his research and business career.
The hospital environments and especially the operating theatres he visited on a daily basis provided Gianfranco with initial ideas, and he began to understand and meet the most pressing requirements of personnel, such as the real need for a clog that could be easily washed and sterilized.

All this led to the establishment of BIHOS S.r.l. in 1984, which obtained its name from BIdoia-HOSpital. Initially set up to produce Calzuro, today, it is a leading producer of special professional footwear for hospital personnel in the world market.
